Karla is a transgender activist from El Salvador.
She has survived three assassination attempts. Despite

Not only for herself but also for others like her, as she
heads an activist group called the Association for
Communication and Training of Trans. Her story
illustrates the major problems that lesbian, gay,
bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) persons face
in El Salvador, where the violence forces many like
0FWQF YT èJJ YMJNW MTRJX FSI RT[J \NYMNS YMJNW HTZSYW^
or seek asylum abroad.
Karla est une activiste transgenre du Salvador. Elle a
survécu à trois tentatives d’assassinat. En dépit des menaces
constantes dont elle est victime, Karla continue sa lutte. Pas
seulement pour elle, mais aussi pour celles et ceux qui
connaissent les mêmes épreuves. Elle est notamment la
